If there’s one organization that knows how phones are hacked, it’s the National Security Agency (NSA). The US intelligence agency recently released a guide with helpful, and easy, security tips for all of us!

The full guide is below, but here are the highlights:

Smartphone Security Recommendations

  • Update your Apps and OS regularly for the latest security patches
  • Only download apps from official app marketplaces (App Store, Google Play)
  • Power cycle your phone at least once per week
  • Only use trusted accessories, avoid public USB charging stations
  • Avoid connecting to Public Wi-Fi
  • Use biometrics locks (fingerprint, face ID) and set passcodes to six digits or more
  • Disable Bluetooth, wi-fi, and cellular connections when not in use

Following these security hygiene tips is a great way to keep the data on your phone secure.
