If there’s one organization that knows how phones are hacked, it’s the National Security Agency (NSA). The US intelligence agency recently released a guide with helpful, and easy, security tips for all of us!
The full guide is below, but here are the highlights:
Smartphone Security Recommendations
- Update your Apps and OS regularly for the latest security patches
- Only download apps from official app marketplaces (App Store, Google Play)
- Power cycle your phone at least once per week
- Only use trusted accessories, avoid public USB charging stations
- Avoid connecting to Public Wi-Fi
- Use biometrics locks (fingerprint, face ID) and set passcodes to six digits or more
- Disable Bluetooth, wi-fi, and cellular connections when not in use
Following these security hygiene tips is a great way to keep the data on your phone secure.
